About Sophia
The unintended expat blogger behind Quiet Orbit Leaf

Hello, I am Sophia
I work as a project manager. A parent. An expat living in Berlin, Germany.
A few years back, I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually grew into a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Germany wasn't in the original plan for the long run. As with many expat relocations, it started as a job chance and soon grew into something far greater.
The initial weeks were demanding — unfamiliar processes, routines, and expectations. Routine tasks seemed more complex than expected.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, ambiguity, and plenty of learning by doing. Yet gradually routines began to take shape. We found places that suited us, connected with other families, and started creating something that felt steady.
Why I Built Quiet Orbit Leaf
Most online information was either corporate relocation guidance or superficial travel content. What was lacking was an honest, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to bridge that gap — practical advice drawn from real life in Germany.
What This Site Does (And Doesn't)
This site is:
- Hands-on experience from living in Germany
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever a real change occurs
This site isn't:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- Not a sponsored review platform
- Not a generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our stay in Germany continues, and so does the learning process. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll continue recording what we uncover.
If you have questions about family life in Berlin or anywhere in Germany, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
Best regards,
Sophia
